Byron Bay Winter Warmer (ft Cyclist Magazine)
What does your ideal winter cycling weekend look like? If it’s: riding without gloves and jackets, navigating quiet country roads through quaint hinterland villages, enjoying a delicious variety of cuisines, and finishing each ride with a swim in the warm beaches of the Northern Rivers; then our Byron Bay Winter Warmer may just be the trip for you.
Following our #MyBigRideByron feature in February, we’ve invited readers of Cyclist Australia to experience for themselves a taste of riding Australia’s most eastern cape. We want you to come along for the ride. Together with Cyclist Australia, we’ve created an exclusive 4 day, 3 night itinerary to share with you the best rides, restaurants and relaxing experiences in Byron Bay.
This trip is perfect for travellers who want to visit Byron and enjoy a social and active escape.

Warm your way into the weekend with rolling hills, rows of macadamias and scenic coastal stretches. Enjoy coffee at a cosy hinterland village and follow the river back to the coast for a hatted ‘Shelter’ lunch.
Journey into the Whian Whian and enjoy riding in a sub-tropical jungle beneath rainforest canopy. Tackle a series of winding climbs and descents, taking you to coffee at a surprisingly-located Japanese cafe named Doma.
Spin the legs out one more time along a favourite local loop. Enjoy scenic ridgelines mixed with short, challenging climbs before finishing with coffee and pastries at Harvest Newrybar and a fast ride home to finish.
